Clonazepam Panic Attack Medication

If you take clonazepam panic attack, phobias and social phobia are very likely the issues you are facing. It is a commonly prescribed benzodiazepine for panic attacks.

Benzodiazepines like clonazepam (Klonopin or Rivotril) and alprazolam (Xanax) help to block or suppress panic attacks much quicker than antidepressants. Clonazepam also tends to last longer in the body.

Clonazepam is also gaining in popularity because unlike alprazolam, it has fewer withdrawal symptoms, so it's easier to go off them and it's also less addictive.

Medication May Require Experimentation

Each person reacts differently though. Finding the right medication for you is really a matter of trial and error. If clonazepam doesn't work for you, don't be upset, but try again. There's always something that's good for you.

You may also feel sedated, have temporary memory problems or build a tolerance. That's why it's a good idea not to rely on one method alone. Cognitive behavioral therapy along with medication is a very good form of treatment.

Clonazepam should be used with caution in the elderly and in children under the age of 18. As mentioned, if you fall in this category, there is always something out there that is more suitable for you.

Work closely with your doctor. If you are happy or unhappy about something, let your doctor know.

Use Extra Caution When Pregnant

If you are pregnant, please be extra careful when taking any anxiety-related drugs. There is a possibility of deformation of the baby in early pregnancy.

In late pregnancy, there's the possibility of withdrawal symptoms that your baby may go through. Please be extra careful and talk to your doctor always.

Though clonazepam panic attack medication is quite effective in significantly reducing/controlling panic attacks, always be cautious until you know how it affects you.

Work with your doctor and find out as much as you can. This way, you're always on top of the situation and you'll feel better in every way when you take your medication.
