Panic Attack And Alpha Lipoic

There is no strong evidence to suggest a panic attack and Alpha Lipoic connection. Alpha Lipoic Acid is a powerful antioxidant and is used in the cosmetic industry.

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is produced by our bodies in small quantities. The levels decline as we get older. Many people use ALA supplements to help fight against diseases.

It's a unique antioxidant. It's the only known antioxidant that can get into the brain. This can help stroke victims from suffering further damage.

Food Sources

Dark green leafy veggies (like spinach) are a good source. Broccoli is another good vegetable source. Beef and organ meats are good sources.

ALA helps to support the proper function of parasympathetic nervous system. Although panic attacks can have an effect on the nervous system, there isn't sufficient evidence that ALA helps to reduce it.

ALA is easily absorbed by the body whether it is from your regular diet or if you take supplements. It has some other important health benefits which include:

- diabetes

- high cholesterol

- hardening of arteries

- dissolves poisons in the liver

- enhances brain / memory function

- protects nerves

Generally, ALA has few (if any) side effects. Speak to your doctor before going on it. It does appear to have numerous health benefits.

Even though there is no conclusive alpha lipoic and panic attack link, it will be worthwhile to look into introducing it into your diet by way of supplements.
